JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida baseball team fell to South Florida, 12-5, on Wednesday night at Harmon Stadium.
LEADING OFF
- Jay Prather led the Ospreys going 3-for-4 and a run scored, while Tanner Murphy went 2-for-4.
- Prather also extended his hit streak to seven-straight games.
- Alex Reynolds leads UNF with an 11-game reached base streak.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulls jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning off three hits, and Osprey error and a wild pitch, all with two outs.
- David Villar extended the USF lead on a single to center field that scored Coco Montes.
- With the bases loaded in the second, James Fitzpatrick singled to right field that brought home Prather for the first Osprey run of the game.
- Later in the inning, Maw Lax reached on a fielder's choice and scored Chris Matthias.
- Chris Berry then produced a sacrifice fly that plated Blake Voyles.
- Fitzpatrick and Law both scored on a wild pitch that tied the game at 5-5.
- JD Dutka plated the winning run in the third inning on a passed ball.
- The Bulls scattered six runs in the final six innings of the game.
