UPSET! Ospreys Knock Off Stetson in ASUN Quarterfinal

DeLAND, Fla. - The North Florida women's basketball team became the first six seed in the ASUN Championship to advance to the semifinals since 2012 as the Ospreys took down No. 3 Stetson, 63-55, in overtime on Friday evening at the Edmunds Center.
This is the first postseason win for the Ospreys since 2013 and snaps a 10-game skid against Stetson.

North Florida now faces off with crosstown rival Jacksonville on Wednesday in the semifinals. UNF has faced JU two other times in the tournament with a 1-1 record against the Dolphins. Jacksonville took down Kennesaw State, 79-52.

OPENING TIP
- Senior Farmer topped the team in scoring for the 18th time as she recorded a game-high 22 points and had 11 rebounds with four steals.
- With her 22 points, Farmer is the program's single-season leader in points with 482 and sits in third in program history behind UNF Hall of Fame player Skye Barber.
- Classmate Hanson added a double-double as well with 11 points and 12 boards to go with three steals.
- Junior Arianna Emanuel-Wright was a spark off the bench with 10 points including two triples.
- It was the third overtime game of the year for North Florida who are now 2-1 in extra time this season.
GAME CAPSULE
OVERTIME
- After hitting just three treys in regulation, North Florida came out firing in the extra time and hit three straight thanks to Tiffany Tolbert, Ty Purifoy and Elli Bartley.
- Leading by five, UNF maintained its distance with the help of Maiya Rumph who scored her four points in the extra time. Rumph scored two free throws to put the game out of reach for the Hatters.
- The Ospreys outscored Stetson, 17-9, in the extra period.
First Half Trends
- The first quarter featured five lead changes with Stetson holding a slight, 13-10, edge.Â
- Stetson took its biggest lead on back-to-back buckets to open the second frame, before North Florida quickly closed the gap to 17-15 on a triple from Emanuel-Wright.
- The teams eventually knotted the score at 22 to head into halftime.
Second Half Trends
- UNF jumped out in front in the opening three minutes of the third until McKenna Beach hit a three-pointer to tie the game for the fifth time at 30-30.
- Stetson pulled out in front for the next four minutes before a triple from Adrienne Jackson put UNF back out in front, 37-35. It was a short lived lead as Stetson came down to sink two freebies and knot the score for the seventh time heading into the final 10 minutes.
- The fourth quarter started slow for both teams as the first bucket was not scored until 7:29 on the clock as UNF went on a 6-0 run.
- After trading three-pointers, Stetson used a 6-0 run of its own to tie the game and send it to overtime. The hosts held the Ospreys without a bucket for the final 4:14 of regulation.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- North Florida owned a 45-35 edge off the glass including 16 offensive boards. It was just the fifth time this season that the Ospreys outrebounded a conference opponent.
- Tolbert and Purifoy each dished out four assists in the win as the Ospreys had 15 helpers on 22 baskets.
- The win is the first since February 2, 2013 against Stetson.
- Freshman Michelle Pruitt led the Hatters with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Beach had 11.Â
- North Florida held Stetson to 34 percent shooting and just 27 percent from long range - both well below its season average.
