JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida cross country teams will toe the start line for the ASUN Championship on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The women's 5K race begins at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at noon.
The Osprey men, currently ranked 11th in the USTFCCCA South Region poll, notched a runner-up finish in last season's ASUN Championship. UNF returned a strong lineup from last year that has continued to build experience as the season has progressed. Freshman Nathan Jubran has added depth to the lineup that features four All-ASUN runners from last season.
The UNF women's team will look to have a strong performance after winning last season's ASUN title. Senior Audrey Carpenter has paced the young Osprey squad that features five freshmen in the top six with two top-10 individual finishes on the season. The Ospreys lost three runners, including ASUN champion Eden Meyer, from last season, but the young group has continued to improve throughout the season and learn how to race together.
Thoughts From the Top
"Both teams have prepared, put in the work on their own in the summer and have really put in a good all-around effort this fall. Practices have been great, but one of our biggest strengths is what they do the other 23 hours of each day. The clean living and attention to detail has been impressive and shows me a desire to be great. We are looking forward to the opportunity to race in the ASUN Championships in New York City." – head coach Jeff Pigg

Event Schedule
11 a.m. – Women's 5K
