
Women's Tennis Ready to Compete at Regionals

ÂATLANTA, Ga. –  North Florida women's tennis continues play this week as it travels to the campus of Georgia Tech to compete in the 2018 ITA Southeast Regional Championships beginning on Friday in the main draw.

Competing in this weekend's action are four Ospreys: Rafaela Gomez, Constanza Gorches, Lucia Montaño and Ana Paula Melilo. All four made the main draw and will learn their opponents late on Thursday.
"We are excited to see what our girls can do at regionals," said head coach Mariana Cobra. "It will be a good chance to see where we stand against schools we may face later this year and some of the top tennis in the country. Ana and Cons had good debuts for us ast week and I believe Rafa and Lucia will do the same this weekend. We have to stick to our game plan and play our tennis and we can go far in this tournament."

Who: Athletes from 15 different schools will be competing in an individual singles and doubles tournament.
When: Thursday – Monday, Oct. 18-22
Where: Ken Byers Tennis Complex, Atlanta, Ga.
Parking: With the exception of Friday, parking will be in the McCamish Lot. On Friday, parking will be available in the Family Housing Deck (fans will not be allowed to park in McCamish Lot on Friday due to an event at McCamish Pavilion Friday night)
Tickets: Admission is free

The Draws
- The Main Draw features a 64-player singles draw, and 32-team doubles draw
- There will be a consolation round for first and second round losers in the Main Draw
On the Line
- The singles and doubles champions from each of the ITA Division I Regional Championships held across the country receive automatic entry into the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships
- The 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships will be held Nov. 7-11 at the Sunrise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona

- Friday, Oct. 19 – Main Draw – Doubles round of 32, Singles rounds of 64 and 32
- Doubles being at 9 a.m. followed by singles round of 64 approx. 11 a.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 20 – Main Draw – Doubles round of 16 and quarterfinals, Singles round of 16; Consolation
- Doubles begin at 9 a.m. followed by singles round of 16 approx. 2:30 p.m. (Consolation all day)
- Sunday, Oct. 21 – Main Draw – Singles quarterfinals and semifinals, doubles semifinals; Consolation
- Singles begin at 10 a.m. followed by doubles approx. 4:30 p.m. (Consolation all day)
- Monday, Oct. 22 – Main Draw – Singles and Doubles Finals; Consolation Singles and Doubles Finals
