Ospreys Comeback Falls Short against Lipscomb

JACKSONVILLEÂ - North Florida women's basketball tried to claw its way back in the fourth quarter with a season-best 28 points, but could not overcome turnovers and foul trouble as Lipscomb grabbed the 73-69 on Monday evening at UNF Arena.

OPENING TIP
- Senior Keonna Farmer led the team for the 10th time in scoring with 21 points. She has now scored in double figure sin 13 of the last 14 games.
- Junior Arianna Emanuel-Wright came off the bench to drop 14 points to score in double figures for the four the time.Â
- Redshirt senior Tesh Hanson also jumped off the bench to record her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.Â
- Sophomore Adrienne Jackson rounded off the double-digit scorers with 10 points, while also grabbing seven rebounds with three assists.
GAME CAPSULE
First Half Trends
- UNF owned a slight edge at the start of the game, but leading scorer Loren Cagle hit five straight points to put the visitors out front where they remained until late in the second quarter.
- The Ospreys got as close as two in the first frame on a layup from Hanson, but Lipscomb took back the lead with back-to-back buckets and owned a 20-13 edge at the break.
- After trading baskets for the opening five minutes of the second, North Florida went on a 12-3 run to take a 33-31 lead into halftime.
Second Half Trends
- The momentum shifted to the Bisons in the third as they held UNF to just two points through the eight minutes in the frame and owned their largest lead of the game, 47-35.
- North Florida chipped away at the lead on baskets from Farmer and Hanson, but a jumper from Emily Kmec pushed Lipscomb out in front 49-41 heading into the last quarter.
- Lipscomb continued to keep its distance, eventually taking an 11-point lead by six minutes in the fourth.Â
- UNF climbed back to within two on a triple from Tiffany Tolbert, but it was two late as Lipscomb went 10-for-12 from the line down the stretch.
- Despite scoring a season-best 28 points in the fourth quarter, North Florida could not shut down Cagle who finished with a career-best 31 points.

- All eight losses against Lipscomb have been by single digits.
- North Florida owned a 41-28 edge off the glass, aided by 19 offensive boards leading to 18 second chance points. The 19 offensive rebounds are the second most of the season.
- UNF has now scored a season-low eight points in the third quarter three times this season.
