Women's Tennis Set to Compete in Annual Bedford Cup

TAMPA, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis is set to compete against teams from around the state of the Florida as the Ospreys take part in the Annual Bedford Cup at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts beginning on Friday at 9 a.m.

All Division I programs in Florida except one will join USF on the courts as Florida State, Stetson, UNF, FAU, FGCU, FAMU, UCF, FIU, Miami and Bethune-Cookman come to Tampa. Florida will not participate in this year's tournament.

Sponsored by the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida, the Bedford Cup is an annual traveling tournament, bringing together Division I tennis programs in Florida. It began in 2011 and has been hosted by USF, FGCU, Florida, Florida State and UNF.

Matches take place starting at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Finals and consolation finals in both singles and doubles are on Sunday. Times of the Sunday matches are to be determined.
