Gurrola Drafted by Philadelphia Phillies

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida's Yahir Gurrola was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 27th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft that wrapped up on Wednesday.
UNF has had at least one player selected in the MLB draft in five-straight years, while eight players were drafted during that time.
Yahir Gurrola was selected in the 27th round by the Philadelphia Phillies. The junior outfielder was an ASUN All-Conference First Team selection in his first year with the Ospreys. Gurrola led the league in doubles (19) and total bases (132), while he finished second in runs (59), RBI (51) and triples (4). He is the third UNF player to de drafted by the Phillies in school history.
