The short story:Â The North Florida men's golf team is third at the Carbarrus County Irish Creek Intercollegiate following rounds of 287-273 in Saturday's opening day of action at the Club at Irish Creek. UNF's afternoon total marked the team's lowest round of the season.

FIRST TEE
- Sophomore Andrew Alligood followed up a morning round 74 by matching his career low of 66 (-5) in the afternoon to finish the day tied for 8th with a total of 140
- Freshman Michael Mattiace equaled Alligood's total with rounds of 72 and a career best 68 (-3)... Mattiace is making his debut in the Osprey lineup at Irish Creek
- Sophomore Philip Knowles was the squad's top scorer in the morning session, carding a 1-under 70 which marked his team-leading 17th round under par this year... Knowles posted an afternoon 73 and is currently tied for 34th (143)
- Junior Dillon Woods boasted scores of 72-69 to finish the day tied for 14th (141), while sophomore Travis Trace rounded out the Osprey lineup in a tie for 34th following rounds of 73-70
