The Short Story: In the ASUN Conference road opener for the North Florida baseball team, the Ospreys broke the game open with six runs in the top of the ninth en route to an 11-1 victory Friday night at Dugan Field in Nashville.

LEADING OFF
- The game was a total team effort as the Ospreys collected 10 hits from 7 different players with Patrick Ervin, Yahir Gurrola, Christian Diaz and Blake Voyles enjoying multiple hit performances.
- On the mound, Austin Drury posted another solid outing allowing just 5 hits and a single run in 6.0 innings of work while also striking out six... Matthew Naylor ended a Lipscomb scoring threat in the 7th and worked 1.2 innings of scoreless relief with three strikeouts to secure the victory
- Chris Thibideau (21), Chris Berry (20) and Alex Merritt (12) all extended their current double-digit on base streaks in the contest, but Merritt's hit streak came to an end at 10 games
- Diaz was the top performer at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and a homerun
- On the night, UNF had three runners thrown out at home on bases loaded force plays
- Marks the 7th game this year that UNF has tallied double-digit runs
- The win was sixth weekend series opening victory of the season for UNF and marked the team's fourth straight victory over the Bisons

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ospreys jumped out of the gate quickly, plating a pair of runs in their first at-bat of the game. Patrick Ervin opened the game with a double and then raced home for the first on an RBI double by Yahir Gurrola. With two outs in the frame, Chris Berry notched a single that scored Gurrola for a 2-0 lead.
- After three scoreless innings of play, the two squads traded solo homeruns in the 5th. Christian Diaz belted his fourth round tripper of the season for the Ospreys in the top of the inning while Lipscomb's Hunter Hanks tallied his second homer in the bottom half of the frame.
- UNF tacked on another run in the seventh after Diaz opened the inning with single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Mac Wilson. Ervin followed with a single to right that drove home Diaz for the 4-1 advantage.
- Lipscomb threatened in the bottom of the seventh getting the bases loaded with just one out but Matthew Naylor was summoned from the bullpen and induced an infield pop up and strikeout swinging to leave the bases full and quelch the scoring chance.
- North Florida made it two consecutive innings with a run adding another tally in the top of the 8th. Wesley Weeks starting things off with a leadoff single and moved to second on a single by Blake Voyles. Back-to-back batters were hit by pitches from Bisons starter Brady Puckett, which forced in a run and ended his night on the mound. LU reliever John Pryor entered with the bases loaded on nobody out and got a pair of Ospreys to hit ground balls that resulted in force outs at home before ending the inning with strikeout.
- In the top of the 9th, Berry drew his team-leading 21st walk with one out. Dalton Board came in to pinch run and moved to second when Weeks also earned a walk. A wild pitch and a throwing error by the Lipscomb catcher allowed Board to score and Weeks moved to third where he would score on an RBI single from Voyles. With the bases full after another walk and hit UNF batsmen, Thibideau earned his first RBI of the night after drawing a five-pitch walk. Gurrola, the ASUN leader in RBI, then cleared the bases with a three-run double giving the Ospreys an 11-1 advantage.

- Trace Norkus finished up on the hill for UNF, setting Lipscomb down in order in their final at-bat
