The Short Story:Â In a midweek rematch against College of Charleston on Wednesday, the North Florida baseball team saw the Cougars collect 22 hits en route to a 20-3 victory at Harmon Stadium. The loss snapped a two-game win streak for the Ospreys and evened the all-time series with CofC to 1-1.
LEADING OFFÂ
- North Florida scored the first run of the game but it was a short-lived lead as the College of Charleston responded with 16 unanswered runs
- The Ospreys tallied 12 hits in the game with eight different players recording one
- Chris Thibideau led the way at the plate for UNF finishing 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored... Thibideau extended his team-best on-base streak to 20 games

- College of Charleston answered back in the top of the second. After a pop-up to start the frame, the Cougars tallied three consecutive singles to load the bases leading to a grand slam from Ari Sechopoulos, his first collegiate homer.
- The Cougars would add a single run in the third when Tommy Richter's dying line drive to centerfield got past a diving Thibideau allowing the CofC hitter to reach third and then score on a sacrifice fly by Bradley Dixon.
- After a scoreless fourth inning, CofC would score runs in the 5th (2), 6th (5), 7th (1) and 8th (3)
- The Ospreys would notch their second run in the bottom of the eighth when Patrick Ervin led off the frame with a double off the right field fence and then raced home on an RBI single by Thibideau.
- Charleston would tack on 4 more runs in the top half of the 9th before James Fitzpatrick closed the scoring for the Ospreys when he deposited his first collegiate hit over the left field fence.
