JACKSONVILLEÂ - North Florida softball split with Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday as Amanda Blanchard tossed a complete-game shutout in game two, while the Wildcats capitalized on Osprey miscues in game one.

- Blanchard tossed a four-hit shutout with four strikeouts in her fifth win of the season. The junior along with the Osprey defense allowed just one batter to reach past second base.
- Sophomore Jenna Brownell continued her effective plate appearances as she came up with a two-RBI home run - her first of the season - in the second game of the series. Brownell has now reached base safely in 17 straight contests.Â
- Freshman Kayla McGory went 3-for-6 against the Wildcats with a triple and an RBI.
- Junior Casey Estes was the other Osprey to tally an extra-base hit as the outfielder recorded a double in game two.
- Despite being tagged with the loss, senior Logan Green pitched a strong first game with just three hits, one earned run, one walk and strikeout.
GAME CAPSULE
Game 1
- The Wildcats scored two runs in the second inning on one hit and three UNF errors. It was the lone runs for BCU as senior Logan Green kept the runners off the bases for the remainder of the game.
- North Florida was finally able to sneak a run in the seventh inning when a leadoff walk from Navia Penrod led to an eventual sacrifice fly to end the shutout for the Wildcats.
- Mariah Estrada tossed the one-run, two-hit game with three strikeouts to improve to 5-5 on the year for Bethune.
Game 2
- North Florida got its bats going in the second game totalling 11 hits on the night.
- The Ospreys plated four in the second thanks to Brownell, Jen Valle and Ashia Kerr singles loaded the bases for an Estes double up the middle that drove in two.
- With two on, Taylor Aguayo and Penrod both recorded RBI singles for the 4-0 lead.
- In the third, Brownell hit her first home run of the season after McGory reached on a triple to make it a 6-0 game.
- Dominica Cocuzza singled to the infield to allow Ashley Niesman to score after she notched a pinch hit single to lead off the inning.
- McGory then had a bunt single bringing in Estes who walked as the second batter of the inning.
- The run made it an 8-0 game and Blanchard closed out the game with three straight outs for the run-rule win.
