JACKSONVILLE- North Florida softball dominated the evening game against Mount St. Mary's. The Ospreys drop the first game to LaSalle.

- Sophomore Dominica Cocuzza went 3-for-6 on the day with a two-run triple and two runs scored.
- In the circle, Logan Green dominated her start surrendering just seven hits with one run and a season-best nine strikeouts against the Mount. Green recorded nine strikeouts against the Mount and Western Carolina on Friday.
- Junior Casey Estes followed up her strong performance yesterday with a 2-for-2 outing with two RBI, four walks and two runs scored.
- Thanks to her three-run home run against the Mount, Alex Arciola recorded a team-best three RBI.
GAME CAPSULE
Game 1
- North Florida held a lead through the six innings before allowing four runs to give LaSalle the win.
- Sophomore Navia Penrod started things out for the Ospreys with a homer over the left field fence.
- UNF then tacked on another run i the fourth when Estes doubled down the left line to score Kayla McGory who reached on a single of her own.
- The Explorers added their first run of the game in the sixth on a two-out single.
- In the bottom of the frame, the Ospreys answered with two more runs after Cocuzza tripled to score McGory and an Estes' sac fly notched another run for a 4-1 lead.
- LaSalle got hot at the right time as it pushed across four runs on five hits to make it a 5-4 game.
- The Explorers kept UNF off the bases in the final inning to secure the win.
- Marlo Roadcap earned the win with eight hits, four runs and nine strikeouts with three walks.
Game 2
- North Florida bounced back from its loss to spread nie runs over six innings to get the victory in the night cap.
- Arciola hit a straight shot out to centerfield to score three runs in the second.
- North Florida added two more runs in the top of the third when McGory hit a sac fly to score Taylor Aguayo who reached on a single.
- The second run of the frame came around as a pitch went under the catcher to allow estes to score.
- UNF added to its lead in the fifth and extended to nine runs in the sixth.
- The Mount tried to get things going in the sixth inning when the second batter doubled down the left line came around to score on back-to-back singles.
- Green and Osprey defense settled down and got the next two outs to close the game in sixth.
North Florida heads over to No. 1 Florida State on Wednesday.
