
Women's Track Earn Event Titles and Record Personal Bests at Clemson Invitational

Meet: Clemson Invitational
Location: Clemson, S.C. (Clemson Indoor Track Facility)
The Short Story: The North Florida women's track and field team opened their indoor season in earnest on Saturday at the Clemson Invitational. Juniors Eden and Grace Meyer led the way on the track claiming event titles in the 3000m and 5000m, respectively. Alyssa Young led a solid performance in the field events finishing second in the high jump with a personal best mark.
THE FINISH LINE
- Grace Meyer got the meet started on a high note for UNF earning the 5000m title in the opening race of the day finishing with a PR time of 17:55.96
- Later in the meet, Eden Meyer matched her twin sister by claiming the 3000m title in a time of 9:47.40
- Freshman Brittany Lang had a strong collegiate debut placing 3rd in the Mile (5:08.22), in the same race senior Mary Kate Thyfault recorded her personal best time 5:13.18 (7th)
- Junior Hallie Grimes lowered her personal best in the 400m finishing 7th in a time of 56.70
- The meet allowed several freshmen to make their collegiate debuts, while a few veteran Ospreys competed in new events in their careers
ON THE FIELD
- Alyssa Young opened her junior campaign with personal best mark of 1.70m (5'07.00") to finish second in the high jump
- Freshman Louisa Washburn made her collegiate debut in the pole vault, clearing a pair of bars including a best of 3.20m (10'06.00")
