MOBILE, Ala. - North Florida beach volleyball grabbed two wins to kick off its spring break as it shut out Principia, 5-0, in the opening match of the day before taking down Spring Hill College, 4-1, at the Jim & Betty Walsh BVB Facility.
"Overall I was very happy with our pairs and their ability to keep the focus on our side of the net," said head coach Steve Loeswick. "Each time we step on the court we are getting better."
Playing on just two courts, Nicole DeBolt and Brittany Pase flew past their opponents at the No. 5 court, 21-3, -7, before Ambre Desaulnay and Chaney Howard grabbed a 21-6, -8, victory in the No. 4 position against the first-year Panther program. Each duo also won against Spring Hill in the same spots. With their wins, Desaulnay and Howard are 5-0 on the season.
At the No. 3 spot, Courtney Miller and Katarina Raicevic picked up wins in both matches. The duo first won 21-10, -9 against Principia before racing to a 21-12, -9 win against Spring Hill. Jessalyn Kinlaw and Megan Crawshaw also went 2-0 on the day in the No. 1 spot. Against the Panthers, Lauren Ford and Kimberly Ferguson won, 21-7, -9, but were unable to complete the sweep against Spring Hill. The Badgers won at the No. 2 court for their lone point of the day.
