@OspreyWGolf Remains in Top 10 After Second Round at Kiawah Island

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The North Florida women's golf team shot a second round 307 on Monday in the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic. UNF's performance kept them in the Top 20 and allowed them to advance into the championship final flight on Tuesday.
The Ospreys are currently tied for 10th with Iowa in the 41-team field with a 36-hole total of 606. Junior Megan Wilshire was the squad's top performer on the day firing a 1-over 73 while senior Emelie Alpe posted a second straight 75 to remain the team's top ranked player in a tie for 23rd at 150. Wilshire moved into a tie for 35th at 151 following her solid round two.
Mary Dawson is tied for 65th at 154 after an 81 and juniors Lauren Coe and Nathalie Nygren are both tied for 73 with totals of 155. Coe and Nygren shot rounds of 80 and 79, respectively.

Tournament host College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina share the team lead at 589 with round one leader Chattanooga in third at 596. Elon is fourth at 598 followed by Old Dominion (599), Mercer (602), East Tennessee (602), Delaware (603), Troy (603), UNF and Iowa in the Top 10 standings.
The Kiawah Island Classic is the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country and features a field split after 36 holes of play. The Top 20 teams will play for the championship at Osprey Point while teams 21-41 will play for a flight championship at Oak Point.
North Florida will close out play in the event in Tuesday's final round shotgun start at 9 a.m. The Ospreys play alongside Iowa and Morehead State beginning on holes 9-11. Live nine-hole scoring is available online at Golfstat.com.
