"Logan ran a great race to finish first in his collegiate 3000m debut," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "Tyler also had a very impressive performance in his first career 3000m. In the DMR, Rayford got us off to a good start and Taylor ran a great 400m leg followed by a strong 800m for Cristian, who handed it off to Fynn to seal the victory with a solid anchor leg."
On the women's side, Alyssa Young finished runner-up in high jump posting a mark of 1.65m (5-05) while teammate Alexandra Ellis was 6th with a jump of 1.55m (5-01). Sophomore Eden Meyer finished 6th in the 3000m in a time of 10:03 while the DMR team (Emily Kerns, Vanessa Philbert, Morgan Rodriguez, Alexis Irwin) earned a runner-up showing in a time of 12;11.17.
"Alyssa had a great competition to finish second in the high jump," added Pigg. "It was nice to see Alexandra also finish sixth in the high jump, while Eden ran a solid race in the 3000m."
The men's team is currently in third place in the overall standings while the women are holding onto the fourth spot after day one. Competition at the Atlantic Sun Indoors concludes with a final day of events on Saturday.
