The Short Story: North Florida struggled offensively down the stretch as Connecticut outscored the Ospreys, 25-9, over the final 13 minutes of action in a tough 80-59 loss on Sunday afternoon at Gampel Pavilion. Dallas Moore finished with 18 points to lead UNF in scoring but was limited to just three points in the second half.Â

OPENING TIP
- Moore kept the Ospreys in the hunt during the first half, scoring 15 points bolstered by 4 three-pointers. He also handed out five assists and tallied a pair of steals.
- Freshman Garrett Sams chipped in 16 points and a team high eight rebounds and two assists, while Romelo Banks added 11 points and a block in the loss.
- Kentan Facey netted 20 points to lead a group of five Huskies in double digits, while also pacing his team on the glass with nine boards... Jalen Adams finished with a double-double of 13 points and 10 assists.
- UConn shot 53 percent from the floor for the game and became just the fifth team to outrebound the Ospreys, winning the battle of the boards, 40-35.

First Half Trends
- Aaron Bodager drilled a three-pointer to start the game and spark the Ospreys to a 7-2 opening run that also included back-to-back buckets from Romelo Banks.
- UConn responded with eight straight points before the two squads would trade baskets and the lead over the next several minutes of play.
- With game knotted at 16-16, the Huskies used a 12-1 run to build a double-digit advantage, 28-17, with 7:56 left in the period
- Ospreys answered with a trio of treys by Garrett Sams (2) and Dallas Moore during a 9-4 spurt that trimmed the deficit to 6 with just over five minutes remaining.

- UConn again responded with eight consecutive points to widen the margin back to double digit.
- Treys from Sams, Bodager and Nick Malonga closed the gap to 55-50 with 13:22.
- The Huskies scored seven straight as part of a 17-5 surge over the next several minutes that put the game out of reach.

"We fought hard in the first half, trailing by just five despite them shooting 60 percent from the floor. I told the guys we were right there and just needed to tighten up on some things. To UConn's credit they never stopped and just kept doing what they had been doing. When you have one or two errors that compounded on themselves allowing them to go on that run. We were struggling to score and had some pretty clean looks but just couldn't get the shots to fall. We weren't able to get Dallas going in the second half but give them credit for doing a great job of guarding him. I've got to do a better job of helping us work through some things during the game. The things that really hurt us was live ball turnovers and not being able to score consistently because that puts a tremendous amount of pressure on your defense." -- Head coach Matthew Driscoll
