11/9/2016 10:38:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Savannah Slade
Hometown: South Walton, Fla.
High School: South Walton High School
Height: 6-3
Position: Forward
Club: Team Slink
Notes: After transferring to South Walton High School as a junior, Slade helped lead her team to a District and Regional Championship as well as a Final Four appearance with a 26-4 record. Playing under Hall of Famer coach Kevin Craig, Slade is the captain of the team and was honored as a Northwest Florida Daily News All-Area first team member and picked up All-State Class 1A second team accolades.
Â
Head Coach Darrick Gibbs: "The addition of Savannah Slade will add size along with the ability to stretch defenses with her three point shooting. She has a great motor and uses it well in the open court. Her length will help us with rebounding and defending the paint. Savannah's unique combination of size along with the ability to stretch the floor will allow her to be very impactful inside and out."
"Low post insider with good hands and finishes around basket. Savannah can drive it from high post and rebounds on both ends. She can run the floor and that is a huge upside."

Savannah Slade can play the 4 or 5 spot, good finisher around the basket, has the size to impact the defensive end of the ball early in her career, very strong fundamentally, and will have her game taken to the next level once she arrives in Jacksonville under Darrick Gibbs and his staff
