@OspreySwim Heads to Nashville for Regular Season Finale

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The North Florida swim team will take on both Marshall and Vanderbilt on Saturday in the squad's final tri-meet of the 2016 regular season. Saturday's competition will be the last before Coastal Collegiate Swim Association Championships Feb. 17-20.

Big Easy Recap: The Ospreys visited New Orleans last Saturday for their first meet against Tulane since the 2004-05 season. The Green Wave surfaced with a 190-94 victory in its final home meet of the season. The meet marked the first competition of the New Year for the North Florida.
Swimmer of the Week, again: Senior Amy Taylor added yet another accolade to her already impressive final season as an Osprey. The fourth-year distance swimmer was named the CCSA Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday. Her performance against Tulane was highlighted by her win in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:14.87, the fourth fastest in school history. Â
The Right Combination: Taylor teamed up with Taylor Schmidinger, Emily Draskovich and Kiana Albert in the 200 freestyle relay on Saturday. The quartet turned in the third fastest 200 free relay time of the season for the Ospreys.
Career Best: For the second time in this season, junior Cara Maxwell trimmed time off her career-best 200 breaststroke time. Maxwell touched the wall with a time of 2:44.60, a new career best. She also put forth a season best in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.13.
Series History: This will be the Ospreys' first ever trip to Nashville and the third meeting all-time with Vanderbilt. The Commodores defeated the Ospreys last season 159-93 in a tri-meet at West Florida. The Ospreys victory in the series came in 2007 in Jacksonville, 162-69. Tomorrow's matchup will be the first meeting ever between Marshall and North Florida.
About Vanderbilt: The Commodores are fresh off a 138-96 loss to Missouri on Thursday night in Columbia at the site of this year's SEC Championship. Vanderbilt has registered wins over two CCSA foes this season, Campbell and NCA&T.
About Marshall: A 2016 win also has eluded the Thundering Herd who fell to James Madison at home on Jan. 21. Marshall got a strong performance out of Caroline Wanner (200 Fly, 200 Back and 200 IM) in the meet which helped her go on to win Conference USA Swimmer of the Week honors.
