
@OspreyMSOC Returns Home for Non-Conference Tilt With Georgia Southern

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida men's soccer team returns home for the first time since Sept. 9 to take on Georgia Southern (2-3-1) on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Ospreys are seeking their third win in four games this season at Hodges Stadium.

Home Cooking: Sunday will be the only the second home game in the month of September for the Ospreys. In three games at Hodges Stadium the Ospreys are 2-1 with wins over UCF and Appalachian State.

Tough Slate: The Ospreys have been through the gauntlet of tough opponents already this season that culminated on Monday against No. 2/3 North Carolina. The Tar Heels were one of three nationally ranked opponents (UNCW & Elon) thus far. Coming into the weekend, Osprey opponents have a 34-10-3 combined record.

On the Ropes: North Florida had the Tar Heels on the ropes on Monday night when Alex Morrell knotted the game up midway through the second half. North Carolina's leading scorer, Tucker Hume finally broke the tie in the 83rd minute. The game was only the second time this season the Ospreys were outshot (9-6).

Assist Man: Junior Simen Solstad recorded his fourth assist of the season last Friday in the win over UNCG. He now has four assists and six points which leads the team. The four assists are second in the Atlantic Sun and 15th in the country.

All-Time Series: Georgia Southern 4-3-1 advantage in the all-time series that began in 2005. Sunday will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2012 when the Ospreys outlasted the Eagles 4-3 in Statesboro. The North Florida win ended a three-game skid against Georgia Southern in which the Eagles outscored the Ospreys, 8-1

About Georgia Southern: The Eagles are fresh off a 4-1 victory over Belmont on Sunday. Sophomore Nick Wells earned Sun Belt Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Monday after finding the back of the net twice in the contest.
