Tough Finishing Round Sees @OspreyWGolf Slip to 10th at Web.com

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The North Florida women's golf team slipped to 10th place in the standings following a final round 307 on Tuesday in the Web.com Intercollegiate at Marsh Landing Country Club.
The Ospreys finished the 54-hole event with a score of 895 after a tough final round performance. Junior Kelly Aylwin shot a 75 (+3) to lead UNF on the last day while fellow junior Emelie Alpe was the squad's to finisher in a tie for 32nd (222) including a final round 77. Sophomore Megan Wilshire, who competed in the event as an individual, collected the program's best showing, tying for 16th at 2-over 218 with a round of 74 on Tuesday.
Aylwin finished the three-round competition in a tie for 40th at 224 followed by sophomore Lauren Coe tied for 48th (225) after a last day 77. Sophomore Nathalie Nygren shot a 79 to finished tied for 61st at 228 while junior Belinda George rounded out the Osprey lineup with a 78 to finish tied for 82nd (235). Freshman Meghan Bennett also competed as an individual and earned a tie for 76th (233) after a final round 78.
No. 32-ranked Miami led wire-to-wire in claiming the team title with a score of 851. Bolstered by a final round 9-under 279, No. 43 Texas Tech finished second at 856 followed by No. 36 Florida State (861), No. 41 Ohio State (864) and Illinois (877) in the top five rankings.
UM's Delfina Acosta earned the individual medalist honor after finishing with a 10-under 206 total.
North Florida will now have a few weeks off from competition before wrapping up the season on Apr. 12-14 with the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship at Reunion Golf Resort in Orlando, Fla.
