ORLANDO, Fla. -- The North Florida women's golf team carded an opening round 312 on Sunday in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship at Reunion Golf Resort.
The Ospreys were led by juniors Emelie Alpe and Mary Dawson, who both posted rounds of 77 (+5) on the first day of the three-day event. The UNF duo ended the round tied for 13th.
Sophomores Megan Wilshire and Nathalie Nygren joined their teammates in the Top 25, finishing the opening round tied for 24th after shooting rounds of 79. Junior Kelly Aylwin rounded out the Osprey lineup in a tie for 32nd with an 81.
Kennesaw State leads the team competition after firing a 1-under 287. Florida Gulf Coast is currently second at 303 followed by Jacksonville (304), Lipscomb (308), UNF, USC Upstate (313), Stetson (316) and Northern Kentucky (322).
KSU's Dulcie Sverdloff sits atop the individual medalist list after posting the only round under par of the day with a 2-under 70.
Tournament action continues in the A-Sun Championship with second round action on Monday. North Florida will be paired with USC Upstate starting at 8 a.m. on Hole 10.
