HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – No. 69 University of North Florida men's tennis recorded a 7-0 shutout against Northern Kentucky on Friday at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex, capping off opening weekend of Atlantic Sun play.

UNF started the match off by capturing the doubles point, winning matches on both the first and second courts. Caio Gomes and Yannick Zuern tallied an 8-3 triumph over Mate Virag and Christopher Angulo at No. 1 doubles. Lasse Muscheites and Zach Goldberg teamed up for an 8-2 No. 2 doubles win against Adrian Isache and Jack Carney.

In singles, five of the six matches were won in two sets. Gomes edged out Virag 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Norbert Nemcsek powered his way to a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Angulo on the No. 2 court. Zuern held off Jody Maginley 7-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Muscheites cruised past Balint Zsidai 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 5 spot, while Goldberg claimed a 6-2, 6-0 No. 6 singles win over Nick Lang.

Julian Bradley had the only three-set match during the singles competition. After dropping the first set 6-4 to Isache, Bradley fought back for a 6-4, 1-0 (10-2) win at No. 4 singles.

UNF plays its first home Atlantic Sun match on Thursday when the Ospreys host Kennesaw State. Match time is set for 2 p.m., at the UNF Tennis Complex and admission is free to all UNF home matches.
