JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After having weather alter its schedule for the last two matches, University of North Florida women's tennis returns to action on Monday when the Ospreys host College of Charleston at the UNF Tennis Complex. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
"College of Charleston is always a tough team that competes well," said head coach Audra Cohen. "We will have to play aggressive tennis and have great composure for the entirety of the match."
UNF has yet to play a complete match since its 4-3 victory over UCF on Feb. 18. The Ospreys' match with South Carolina was cancelled due to expected cold temperatures at the start of the late-afternoon match. Meanwhile, most recently, rains forced UNF's match with Georgia Southern to be suspended. At the time the match was stopped, UNF was up 1-0 in the team score after capturing doubles point and led in the first set on all six singles courts.
College of Charleston was supposed to begin a two-match trip to the state of Florida on Saturday. However, rain cancelled its weekend-opening match at Stetson on Saturday. The Cougars are in search of their first win this spring and have dropped their last seven matches. However, five of those seven matches featured ranked opponents, including the Cougars' most recent match. In its last time out, College of Charleston was swept 7-0 at No. 55 William and Mary.
Admission is free to all UNF women's tennis matches.
