PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla – The North Florida women's golf team opens up its spring competition schedule Monday when the Ospreys face crosstown rival Jacksonville in the 3rd annual Hughes Cup match at TPC Sawgrass.
The unique, non-conventional collegiate format event was developed to promote and highlight collegiate women's golf in the Jacksonville area.
The match mirrors the format of the Ryder Cup and will be played on the Dye's Valley course at TPC Sawgrass. The morning round will be composed of two sets of matches - the front nine will host two four-ball (best ball) matches and the back nine features two foursome (alternate shot) matches. The afternoon session consists of five singles matches.
The team teams enjoyed a pairings dinner on Sunday night in the Champions room of the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse.
