TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Behind a stellar, first quarter shooting display, the 14th ranked Florida State Seminoles (3-1) got out to an early double-digit lead and never looked back in an 80-28 victory over the North Florida women's basketball team (1-4) this morning.

The Seminoles were 12-of-16 from the floor over the first 10 minutes of play and scored 14 of the first 16 points of the game. The hot-shooting Florida State team never trailed and owned a 29-5 lead after the first quarter.

Four of the five starters for the Seminoles reached double figures led by Adut Bulgak who finished with 19 points and seven rebounds. It marked the first time this season that the ACC Player of the Week did not record a double-double. Junior Ivey Slaughter put together one of the better all-around performances of an Osprey opponent this season. She chipped in with 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists. The third-year forward collected her 500th rebound in the contest and also drew numerous charges on the defensive end.

The Ospreys who struggled from the field in the first half, halted the sharp-shooting Seminoles in the second quarter allowing just 11 points on 5-of-15 shooting. Freshman Hadley Kiefer led North Florida in scoring for the second time in five games with eight points. She knocked down her seventh three-pointer of the season which is the second most on the team.

Junior Taru Madekivi was able to connect from downtown twice in the contest to add six points to the Osprey point total. She also pulled down a career-high six rebounds in the contest. Sophomore, Kadesia Johnson grabbed five rebounds and has five or more rebounds in her last four games.

Florida State scored 48 of its 80 points in the paint and also scored 33 points on 24 North Florida turnovers.

Tuesday was the sixth meeting between the two schools and the fifth played in Tallahassee.

The Ospreys will be home starting Friday when they host their annual Osprey Thanksgiving Classic. Bethune-Cookman, Towson and Western Illinois will all converge on UNF Arena for a four-game classic style tournament. North Florida will play on both days at 3:00 p.m.
