JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Women's Soccer team faces Jacksonville in the first round of the Atlantic Sun Championship Friday at 7 p.m. at Southern Oak Stadium.
Â
The Ospreys (4-11-1, 2-4-1 A-Sun) are the sixth overall seed in the tournament, while the Dolphins (6-7-2, 4-2-1 A-Sun) are the third seed. The winner will move on to play Lipscomb in Fort Myers, Fla. next Friday.
Â
"We are excited once again to compete in the A-Sun Conference Tournament. It is a unique situation that we get to face the same team again within a week," said coach Robin Confer. "Last week's game was very competitive and expect tomorrow's match will be no different."
Â
North Florida is looking to avenge last week's 2-1 loss to the Dolphins in the regular season.
Â
The Ospreys' attack is led by freshman Krista Colubiale, who was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference Second Team and the All-Freshman team this week.
Â
The defense is anchored by junior Jenna Steininger, who has played every minute of 14 of 16 matches this season, and every minute of A-Sun play.
Â
Friday's match will be available on ESPN3 with a full recap following all the action on UNFOspreys.com.
