JACKSONVILLE - The North Florida women's soccer team (0-4-0) has their first road trip of the season this weekend, when they head to Charleston, S.C. for the Nike Tournament.
"I think the team is excited to get on the road. Sometimes when you are on the road you don't have as many distractions," said head coach Robin Confer. "We have two important games this weekend that we have been preparing our team for."
North Florida will face the Buccaneers of Charleston Southern (3-1-0) on Friday at 4 p.m., before heading across town to face the Bulldogs of The Citadel (3-1-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Ospreys are looking to get their first win of the season after dropping their opening four contests at home, including two one-goal contests.
Freshman Kayla Gray and Sophomore Alexis Bredeau lead the team in shots with six, while senior goalkeeper Megan Dorsey has totaled 16 saves this season.
"We've set out on this six game road trip with a couple of goals in mind to focus on for these games and it all starts tomorrow against Charleston Southern," added Confer.
Friday's match at Charleston Southern will be live streamed on the Big South Network, while Sunday's match will be live streamed on the SoCon Digital Network.
