Sofia Miliancano Recognized As ASUN Goalkeeper Of The Week - University of North Florida Athletics

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Women's Soccer's fifth year goalkeeper Sofia Miliancano was recognized as ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.

The selection marks the third ASUN Goalkeeper of the week honor for the Ospreys this season after Miliancano earned the distinction on Oct. 5 and junior goalkeeper Chrissa Avery was recognized on Oct. 12.

For Miliancano, it marks her third ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week honor after being recognized on Oct. 5 and on Oct. 25, 2022. Avery and Miliancano have claimed all five of the program's ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week selections.

For the Ospreys, it's their fifth ASUN weekly award distinction this season.

Miliancano secured 15 saves, a shutout and a .938 save percentage to help the Ospreys earn a pair of wins this past weekend over Stetson and FGCU.

She grabbed four saves to secure her fourth clean sheet of the season and 17th collegiate clean sheet, helping North Florida shutout down Stetson, 1-0, on Oct. 22.

Miliancano collected a career-high 11 saves, the most by an Osprey goalkeeper since 2016, to help North Florida take down FGCU, 2-1, on Oct. 25.

She is one of only five ASUN goalkeepers this season to secure 10 or more saves in a single match. She would grab six of her 11 saves in the first half against the Eagles. It marked the fourth match of the season and her ninth collegiate match with at least five saves.

North Florida closes out its regular season at Southern Oak Stadium against crosstown rival Jacksonville for another matchup of the River City Rumble on Saturday, Oct. 31. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET.
