JACKSONVILLE - The North Florida women's soccer team (1-5-0) travels for their second of three consecutive weekends when they face the Panthers of Georgia State in Atlanta on Friday at 7:00 p.m., before heading to Statesboro, Ga., to face the Eagles of Georgia Southern on Sunday.
Â
"We have had a good week of practicing and we look forward to playing Georgia State and Georgia Southern," said head coach Robin Confer. "Georgia State is a much better team than their record indicates so we need to be prepared for a competitive game."
Â
The Ospreys are coming off of their first win of the season, where freshman Kayla Gray and sophomore Kayla Aritt both netted a first half goal to secure the victory over The Citadel 2-1 in Charleston last Sunday. Aritt and Gray lead the team in goals with two, while senior keeper Megan Dorsey has tallied 27 saves so far in the net this season.
Â
Georgia State (0-4-2) is looking for their first victory of the season, following a scoreless, two-overtime draw with Belmont last weekend, while Georgia Southern (4-1-0) will face Alabama State on Friday before hosting North Florida.
Â
"Georgia Southern is off to a good start this season and are playing with a lot of confidence right now," added Confer. "Both games will be good matches for us this weekend."
Â
Live stats will be available for both matches, and Sunday's match will be live streamed by Georgia Southern Athletics.
