TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The North Florida baseball team will begin a four-game road trip on Wednesday when they travel west to take on Florida A&M at 5:00 p.m. It will be the first of two meetings between the two schools scheduled for this season.

About FAMU: The Rattlers and Ospreys share four common opponents this season in Bethune-Cookman, Jacksonville, Mercer, and Savannah State. In a four-game season series, FAMU was swept by Mercer but took all three games at Savannah State in early March. The Rattlers have played eight of the last nine games on the road and return home after dropping two out of three to Bethune-Cookman this past weekend. FAMU is in third place in the Mid-Eastern Conference with a record of 8-6. Senior Bennie Robinson boasts a team-high .382 batting average to go along with four home runs and 25 RBIs.
Series History: The Ospreys have won all 13 matchups against FAMU including a pair of games last season. North Florida has outscored the Rattlers 54-8 in the last six meetings.
Drew Weeks on Base Streak: Already setting a school record with a 31-game hit streak earlier this season, the junior has reached base in 40 consecutive games dating back to last season. The mark is the longest since Preston Hale reached in 31-straight games back in 2010. Hale is UNF's all-time leader in hits with 283.
Atlantic Sun Leaders in Hitting: The Ospreys are the only team in the Atlantic Sun with a team batting average over .300. The Ospreys are batting .301 and are second in the league with 340 hits.
UNF Keys to Victory: The Ospreys have been successful this year when keeping their opponents under five runs. A total of 12 of their 15 wins have come when the opposition has scored five or less. From an offensive standpoint, North Florida is 13-4 when collecting 10 or more hits.
Ospreys in the National Ranks: Coming into the week of play the Ospreys ranked in the top 25 in hits, home runs, and batting average. North Florida is 16th in the country in hits (340), 21st in home runs (21) and 21st in batting average (.301). Junior Drew weeks is third in the nation with 56 hits and tenth with a .431 batting average.
Long Distance Help: North Florida is ranked second in the country to Georgia Tech in outfield assists with 14. Against Jacksonville Drew Weeks threw out two runners from right field and moved into the national lead with seven outfield assists.
RBI Machine: Junior Trent Higginbothem has driven in a run in each of the last seven games. Against Jacksonville he drove in a seven runs including a season-high three by virtue of his first career triple on Sunday afternoon. He leads the team with 26 RBIs and ranks fourth in the Atlantic Sun.
Bacon's Career Run Milestone: Junior Alex Bacon scored his 100th run as an Osprey on Sunday in an 11-2 win over cross-town rival Jacksonville. He ranks seventh all-time in the North Florida Division 1 era and trails only current Osprey Assistant Coach Andrew Hannon who scored 102 in his playing career.
River City Rumble Recap: North Florida finally got the bats going in the series finale against Jacksonville on Sunday. The Ospreys scored a season-high seven runs in the seventh inning to avoid the series sweep. After giving up two runs in the first inning, Corbin Olmstead tossed seven scoreless innings to earn his third win of the year. The Ospreys had a rally come up short in the ninth inning in Saturday's, 6-5 loss and were held to just seven hits in an 8-4 loss in the series opener.
