
Osprey #TF Concludes Day Two of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's and women's relay teams concluded day two action at the Florida Relays on Saturday.
"This meet for us was good for us to see how we measure up against some of the big time programs," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "I thought we competed very well this whole weekend."
The women's 4x800-meter relay team was the highlight of the day. Junior Alessandra Valdes, freshman Morgan Rodriguez, freshman Vanessa Philbert and junior Alyssa Brandt teamed up to clock a time of 08:58.1 to finish in third place.
The women's distance medley team also had a strong showing at the Florida Relays with a sixth place finish. Valdes, Alyssa Yonker, Philbert and Brandt clocked in a time of 12:03.20.
The men's 4x800 were led by an all freshmen team comprised of Cristian Acuna, Billy Boros, Desmond Robb and Hunter Sport. The freshmen finished in sixth place, crossing the line at 07:51.80. In addtion, the men's 1600 meter sprint medley relay comprised of juniors Jacoby Hadden and Abraham Noel along with freshmen Desmond Robb Hunter Sport clocked a 3:28.30 to finish 15th.
The Ospreys are back in action on April 19, when they return to Gainesville, Fla. for the Tom Jones invitational.
