JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After a four games on the road, the North Florida baseball team hosts in-state foe UCF in a non-conference tilt at Harmon Stadium on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday night's in-state battle will be broadcasted live on 1010 XL . About UCF: Competing in their first season in the American Athletic Conference, the Knights are thriving. Series sweeps over Cincinnati and Temple have UCF at 6-0 and in first place in their league. Coming into today's contest, the Knights have won seven-straight games and nine of their last 11 games. Derrick Salberg is UCF's top hitter, flirting with the .400 mark with a .396 batting average in 21 games. Opponents are hitting just .242 against the UCF pitching staff which boasts a 3.80 collective ERA.

Last Meeting Against the Knights: The Ospreys traveled down to Orlando and captured a 9-5 victory over UCF. The Ospreys scored nine runs on 17 hits including six extrabase hits. Drew Weeks and Alex Bacon homered in the contest.

Peak at the All-Time Series: North Florida holds an 8-6 advantage all time against UCF in a series that started back in 1988. The Ospreys rattled off five-straight games against the Knights from 2006-2008. The Knights however have won three of the last five meetings.

A-Sun's Top Offense: For the second week in a row, the Ospreys find themselves as the top-hitting offense. They are batting a league-best .304 and are the only team in the league with an team batting average over .300.

A-Sun's Top Defense: The Ospreys have committed only 30 errors this season and have a .972 fielding percentage which is the top in the highest in the league.

Weekend Recap: Weather wreaked havoc on the schedule of this weekend's series against Mercer. Rain on Friday and Saturday morning forced a nine-inning game on Saturday night and a doubleheader on Sunday. The Ospreys got outstanding pitching performances by David Trexler and Dan VanSickle in an 6-3 victory on Saturday night. The duo held the Bears to their lowest hit total in more than five years. Mercer used a couple of big innings in the doubleheader to take the Atlantic Sun series. The Bears scored nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings of the two contests.

The Key Number of Hits: When collecting 10 or more hits in a game, the Ospreys are 12-3. North Florida was held to eight hits in game two against Mercer and just seven in the series finale.

Clutch Hitting of Higginbothem: Junior Trent Higginbothem been delivering when it counts this season. A total of 11 of the third baseman's team-leading 18 RBIs have come with two outs. Against Mercer he hit his second home run of the season in Saturday night's win and drove in a run in each of the two games on Sunday afternoon.

Olmstead From the Top: Sophomore Corbin Olmstead has thrived since moving to the lead-off position two weeks ago. He has a .439 batting average from the top slot and is slugging a staggering .809. He is second in the Atlantic Sun with a slugging percentage of .641.

Bacon on All-Time Games Started List : With three starts this past weekend against Mercer, junior Alex Bacon made is 144^th start as an Osprey which is the 7^th most in school history. It is the fifth most starts in the North Florida Division I Era.

Bacon Nears Career Runs Milestone: Midway through his third season with the Ospreys, Alex Bacon has scored 98 runs in his career. Only six Ospreys have scored 100 or more runs in the school's Division I era.
