#MGolf Finishes 11th at Linger Longer

GREENSBORO, Ga. -- The No. 47-ranked North Florida men's golf team carded a final round 306 to finish 11th in the Linger Longer Invitational at Great Water Golf Course.
The Ospreys were unable to move up the team leaderboard in the final round finishing the 54-hole event with a total of 887. Sophomore Taylor Hancock posted a final round 2-over 74 to lead UNF on Sunday.
Junior All-American MJ Maguire was the Osprey's top performer at the event earning a tie for 29th at 221 following his final round 76. Sophomore Austin Padova shot a 78 to finish tied for 35th at 222, while Hancock earned a tie for 40th at 224.
Junior Joey Petronio entered the final round at 2-under but struggled on Sunday with an 82 and finished tied for 40th (224). Redshirt freshman Osten Waite rounded out the Osprey lineup earning a tie for 66th at 232 including a final round 78.
No. 5 Georgia outplayed the 15-team field, capturing the team title by 10 shots with a three-round total of 837. No. 1 Alabama finished second at 847 followed by No. 15 Oklahoma (867), No. 26 Clemson (870), No. 33 Mercer (874), No. 41 Liberty (874), South Alabama (875), Chattanooga (878), No. 37 Kennesaw State (879), Yale (886), UNF, Charlotte (890), Michigan State (913), Southern Miss (925) and Furman (945).
UGA's Michael Cromie and Bama's Robby Shelton shared the individual medalist title with scores of 9-under 207.
North Florida continues a busy stretch of competition at the Irish Creek Invitational on Apr. 5-6 in Kannapolis, N.C.
