FORT WORTH, Texas- TCU outlasted No. 63 University of North Florida women's tennis 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

"We stepped up at some spots today, but we needed to step up at every court to get a win on TCU's courts," said head coach Audra Cohen. "We have the tools to step up and in certain spots we are still too scared of failure to use them. Being reactive tennis players will not get us the wins we are proud of; proactive tennis is the only way we will advance as a program. From this loss we are understanding that this philosophy is true."

In doubles, Marina Cunningham and Taylor Hollander grabbed the lone doubles win for the Ospreys with an 8-4 victory over Sofiko Kadzhaya and Tatum Nowlin at No. 3 doubles.

Michelle Valdez and Cunningham got the Ospreys' two singles wins. Cunningham downed Seda Arantekin 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 at No. 4 singles. At the No. 6 spot, Valdez won the first set 6-2, before Nowlin retired at 2-1 in the second set.

The Ospreys return to action as they face Division II No. 3 Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
