JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—The University of North Florida men's tennis team grabbed a 4-3 victory over UNC Greensboro on Tuesday afternoon.

"I think today's match was a great experience for the team, having the freshman see what a 4-3 match is like," said Bernardo Craveiro. "Jack Findel-Hawkins stepped up and played great. I think we are on a rise and it will be a great season and we can't wait to continue conference again."

The Ospreys claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Zach Goldberg and Mark Hamill downed Daniel Mack and Nazhone Wilkins 8-4 at the No. 3 spot. At No. 2 doubles, No. 34 Caio Gomes and Yannick Zuern grabbed the doubles point with an 8-4 victory over Cameron Smith and Gaston Murray.

In singles, Craveiro got the first of the Ospreys' singles win with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of James Flynn at the No. 6 position. At No. 3 singles, Norbert Nemcsek defeated Gaston Murray 6-4, 7-6 (8-6). After losing the first set 4-6, Findel-Hawkins battled back and snatched the last two sets, 7-5, 6-2 to clinch the match for the Ospreys.

The Ospreys return to the UNF Tennis Complex on Friday, March 14 to face No. 52 UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m.
