3/10/2014 3:28:00 PM | Men's Tennis
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—The University of North Florida men's tennis team moves Wednesday's scheduled match with UNC Greensboro to Tuesday, March 11 at 2 p.m., at the UNF Tennis Complex.
Â
"We are so fortunate to have three home matches this week," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "Our team is really starting to understand how much effort and discipline it takes to win a college match. We played much more like a team against FGCU and will be making that one of the process goals for the UNCG match."
Â
The Ospreys enter the match with a 4-8 record after opening Atlantic Sun Conference play with a 5-2 victory over Florida Gulf Coast on March 2nd. Following the win, Caio Gomes was named A-Sun's Men's Tennis Player of the Week, for the second time this season. Gomes was named after going 2-0 in both singles and doubles in two matches. It was the fourth consecutive player of the week honor and the fifth this season for North Florida.
Â
UNC Greensboro has a 7-2 record, only falling to Coastal Carolina and N.C. State. The latest win for the Spartans comes from a 7-0 victory over Georgia Southern on March 9. Daniel Mack enters the match tied for No. 106 in the ITA rankings. Mack has a 7-2 dual match record, while going 5-0 at the No. 5 spot.
