Â
"We're excited to be back home and to host the Hampton Inn Oceanfront Holiday Classic," said head coach Mary Tappmeyer. "It is always a fun time for us. The girls get to play in front of family and friends and we are looking forward to ending our fall semester on a high note."
Â

Â
While in the Holiday Classic: This is the eighth year in UNF's Division I era in with the Ospreys have hosted a holiday classic. UNF is 9-5 during its own tournament.
Â
Extending to Eight: With her 20 points at Florida State on Tuesday, Destinee Smith has an eight-game streak of double-digit points. She's averaged 15.5 points over the previous eight games.
Â
What a Win Would Mean: If UNF wins at least once this weekend, the Ospreys will set a new program Division I record for most non-conference regular-season victories. UNF already has five non-conference wins this year and, including this weekend, has five out-of-conference games remaining on the schedule.
Â
Scouting Wofford: Enters the weekend with a 3-7 record… has lost its last two games, including on Thursday night with a 71-51 loss to William & Mary… is only 1-4 on the road this season… only road win was a 70-52 victory at UNC Asheville on Dec. 6… Jordan Frazier leads the team with 17.3 points per game and has scored double figures in all eight games she's played. Frazier already has two 20-point games (28 at UNC Asheville, 24 at Radford)… Ashton Fleming is pulling down 7.9 rebounds per game.
Â
UNF-Wofford Series: Wofford leads the series 2-1. UNF won the last meeting 71-60 on Nov. 30, 2008. However, in 2007, Wofford won twice, defeating the Ospreys 51-42 on Dec. 19, 2007 at the UNF Holiday Classic and then winning 58-44 10 days later on Dec. 29, 2007 in Spartanburg, S.C.
Â
Scouting Western Carolina: Comes into the Hampton Inn Oceanfront Holiday Classic with a 6-4 record… won four of last five games, including on Wednesday at UNC Asheville… also participated in the UNCW Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Classic Nov. 28-29, going 1-1 on that weekend… in the midst of a six-game road swing… Justin Taylor averages 20.2 points per game and had a 32-point performance at Virginia Tech on Dec. 14… Sherae Bonner is pulling down 10.7 rebounds per game.
