Women’s Soccer Stumbles at George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. – The University of North Florida women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to George Mason Sunday afternoon at George Mason Stadium.

Junior forward Liz Hodges scored the first goal of the match in the 17th minute of play from five yards out. In the 19th minute, the Patriots scored their second goal on a pass from Sarah Hardison to Jazmin Cardoso, who placed the ball in the back corner of the net. The final goal of the match came in the 53rd minute by Sydney Mitchell who was assisted by Paige Babel.

North Florida tallied four shots in the afternoon. Senior forward Carolina Lencina led all Ospreys with two shots while Jill Holdsworth and Alexis Bredeau each recorded a shot.Â

Freshman goalkeeper Susie Ford surrendered three goals, but recorded eight saves on the afternoon. Briana Kottler earned the victory on goal for George Mason.

North Florida is back in action Friday, Sept. 6, as the Ospreys travel to Tampa, Fla. to take on UCF in the USF Soccer Classic.Â
