TAMPA, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's soccer team travels to Tampa, Fla. to take on in-state foes, University of Central Florida (2-2-0) and University of South Florida (2-0-2) in the USF Soccer Classic at Corbett Stadium. The Ospreys look to rebound after a pair of road losses last weekend against Navy and George Mason.
Â
Last week, the Ospreys dropped a 1-0 decision at Navy on Friday evening before falling to George Mason 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Â
The Ospreys begin the weekend against UCF on Friday afternoon in a 4:30 p.m. match. The Knights were ranked No. 17 in the nation before dropping back-to-back matches last weekend to Tennessee and Florida State. In the only meeting in program history, then ranked No. 6 UCF 3-1 defeated North Florida in Orlando in 2012. The lone Ospreys' UNF goal came from Lauren Hopfensperger.
Â
North Florida concludes the weekend and its six-match road trip as the Ospreys face USF on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. The Bulls come into the weekend unbeaten with two victories and two draws. USF returns eight starters from its 2012 squad, including top scorer Sharla Passariello. The Bulls own the overall series against North Florida, boasting a 2-0-1 mark.
