JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The North Florida Women's Golf concluded its inaugural regular season schedule Tuesday carding a final round 307 in the Web.com Intercollegiate held at Marsh Landing Country Club.
The Ospreys finished the 54-hole event with a total of 909 and earned a 15th-place finish in the 20 team field that included six teams ranked among the nation's Top 50. The tournament total marked the second best score of the season.
The all freshmen lineup for UNF was led by Tess Huber, who finished tied for 27th at 222 following a final round 74. Emelie Alpe tied for 36th at 224 while Mary Rodgers earned a tie for 63rd at 230. The Osprey scores were rounded by Kelly Aylwin at 233 (T-74th) and Belinda George at 251 (101st).
No. 14-ranked Purdue claimed the team championship as the only squad under-par finishing with a three-round tally of 857 (-7). No. 28 Iowa State was second at 865 followed by No. 17 Texas Tech (869), No. 47 Florida State (886) and No. 41 UCF (887), FIU (888), Sam Houston State (891), No. 44 East Carolina (894), Kennesaw State (894), Maryland (900), Daytona State College (901), Chattanooga (903), Stetson (906), Michigan (906), UNF, Illinois (912), James Madison (916), Cincinnati (918), Jacksonville (919), Charleston Southern (944).
Texas Tech's Gabriella Dominguez and Purdue's Paula Reto shared the individual medalist crown with four-under 212.
North Florida now turns its attention to the postseason as the Ospreys will make their debut at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship event on Apr. 15-17 in Jekyll Island, Ga.
