
Women's Golf Debuts at Atlantic Sun Championship

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. -- The North Florida women's golf team concludes its inaugural season playing in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship at Pine Lakes Golf Club.
The Ospreys have enjoyed a successful debut season earning four Top 10 team finishes. UNF has featured an all freshmen lineup in several events.
Freshman Emelie Alpe, who joined the Ospreys at the semester break, leads the team with a stroke average of 76.75 and is coming off her best event at UNF that included a career best round of 73.
Fellow freshman Tess Huber has played in all nine events for North Florida this season and ranks second with a 77.00 average while the freshmen duo of Mary Rodgers and Kelly Aylwin are tied for third on the squad with matching averages of 77.96.
The Ospreys played at Pine Lakes GC in the first collegiate tournament in program history on Sept. 22-24, finishing third in a five-team field after rounds of 303-301-300=904. The score was the team's best 54-hole total of the season and the final round 300 marke the second lowest score of the year.
North Florida begins play at the ASun Championship on Monday at 8:45 a.m. off of tee No. 1. The Ospreys will be paired with Lipscomb in opening round play.
