TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The North Florida basketball team begins a stretch of three straight road games Wednesday in a meeting with Alabama in Coleman Coliseum at 7 p.m. (CT)
The Ospreys (5-4) look to build upon their 90-68 home win over Edward Waters on Monday night. Against the Tigers, senior Travis Wallace finished with a season-best 20 point performance while freshman Chris Davenport posted his second career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
For the season, Wallace is leading UNF in both scoring (13.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.2 rpg) with freshman Dallas Moore also averaging double digit points at 11.2 per contest.
Alabama (3-3) has dropped its last two games but is a perfect 3-0 at home this season. Trevor Releford leads a quartet of Crimson Tide players averaging in double digits, scoring 17.3 points a game.
Wednesday's tilt marks the third all-time meeting between the Ospreys and Tide with Alabama having claimed the previous two meetings by an average margin of 21 points. The pair last met in the 2011-12 season opener, a 64-44 victory for Bama.
The game is being televised live on CSS, as well as available on ESPN3, with Matt Stewart handling the play-by-play duties and legendary Alabama basketball coach Wimp Sanderson serving as the expert analyst. UNF fans can also listen live to the call of the game by "Voice of the Ospreys", Robert Harper, on 1010 XL AM/92.5 FM in the Jacksonville area or online at www.1010xl.com.
Osprey fans are also invited to participate in a "Watch Party" on Wednesday night at Sneakers Sports Grille on Baymeadows. Fans are encouraged to start gathering at 7:30 p.m. (ET) to watch and support the team.
Following the Alabama game, North Florida continues its road trip on Saturday with a game at Indiana in historic Assembly Hall. The IU game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
