Home Stand Continues for #MBB Monday Against Savannah State

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The North Florida basketball team continues its three-game home stand Monday by hosting Savannah State at 7:30 p.m. at UNF Arena.
The Ospreys (1-3) look to rebound following a pair of hard fought losses including an 87-78 decision in their home opener Saturday night versus Southern University. In the game, five UNF players reached double digits led by 14 points each from Charles McRoy and Devin Wilson, but could not overcome a 52.5 percent shooting performance by the Jaguars.
Savannah State brings a 2-2 record into Monday's tilt have posted back-to-back wins over Tennessee Temple (73-63) and Florida National (87-60) last week.
Monday's game marks the 15th all-time meeting between the Ospreys and Tigers with the series currently tied at 7-7. The home team has been victorious in every match-up and this marks the third consecutive season for the duo to meet on the hardwood. UNF and SSU are scheduled to play again next Tuesday (Nov. 26) in Savannah.
Travis Wallace, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career on Saturday night, leads the Ospreys on offense averaging 14 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Freshman Dallas Moore is also averaging in double digits for UNF, scoring 10.3 points a game, while sophomore Beau Beech is just shy at 9.8 ppg.
The Tigers are led in scoring by Joshua Montgomery with 11 points a game while Jyles Smith averages 8.5 points and team best 8.0 rebounds a contest.

Single game men's and doubleheader ticket prices are $12 Reserved (Sec. 5-14), $10 Adults, $8 (Youth 17-under, Senior Citizens 55+, Active Military, UNF Faculty/Staff), UNF students with valid Osprey1 card and children under 2 are free.
