Road Trip Concludes for #MBB at Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The North Florida basketball team completes its three-game road swing to open the season Wednesday night against Middle Tennessee in the Murphy Center at 7 p.m. (CT).
The Ospreys (1-1) look to build on the success of their 72-70 road victory at UALR on Monday night. The win for UNF snapped a 13-year home opening win streak for the Trojans. Demarcus Daniels drilled four three-pointers on his way to a career-best 17 point performance for North Florida, who placed four players in double digits.
Senior Travis Wallace leads the team in both scoring (14 ppg) and rebounding (8.0 rpg) this season having posted double figures in both games. Freshman Romelo Banks has also reached double digits in back-to-back games averaging 11 points per game while sophomore Beau Beech is scoring 10 points a contest.
UNF has been strong on the boards this season, out-rebounding its opponents by an average of seven rebounds a game. Eight of the 10 Ospreys to play this season are pulling down over two boards a game. North Florida has also connected on 8.5 three-pointers per game.
Middle Tennessee posted a 78-75 home win over Southern University on Sunday. The win extended the Blue Raiders home win streak to 29 games, currently the second longest stretch in the country. Neiko Jones led a group of five players in double digits finishing with 20 points in the victory.
Wednesday's game marks the first hardwood meeting between UNF and Middle Tennessee.
After facing MT, North Florida returns to Jacksonville and will tip-off the home portion of its schedule against Southern on Saturday at 7 p.m. in UNF Arena. The game begins a three-game in six day home stand for the Ospreys.
