ATLANTA, Ga. – University of North Florida women's tennis takes a two-match winning streak on the road when the Ospreys visit Georgia State on Monday.
UNF picked up a pair of home wins on Thursday and Saturday. The Ospreys posted a 6-1 victory over Eastern Kentucky and then swept Troy 7-0 for their first shutout of the season. Five Ospreys – Melanie Aguirre, Lorena Aviles, Marina Cunningham, Danielle Day and Simona Weymar – have each won their last two singles matches. Additionally, the doubles duos of Aguirre/Day and Weymar/Rebeca Pereira have also won their last two matches.
Georgia State had nearly a week in between matches after having its doubleheader against Mercer and Jacksonville State rained out on Friday. The Panthers are coming off a 7-0 sweep of Samford last Tuesday to improve to 6-4 on the season. Home court has played to Georgia State's advantage this season with the Panthers owning a 2-0 mark. Additionally, Georgia State has yet to allow a team to register a point at Piedmont Park this season. Abigail Tere-Apisah brings a 10-0 No. 1 singles record and a No. 54 national ranking into the match.
