Golf Moves Up Three Places on Final Day

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 12th-ranked North Florida golf team carded a final round 291 moving from 11th to eighth place in the final standings of the SunTrust Gator Invitational held at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
The Ospreys finished the 54-hole event with a total of 883, just one shot behind UAB. UNF boasted the fourth best round of the day on Sunday. Junior Sean Dale earned another Top 10 finish to lead the way for UNF finishing tied for sixth at 214 following a final round even-par 70.
Junior newcomer Pete Kellerman finished tied for 30th (222) after a final round 75 while senior Kevin Aylwin tied for 40th (224) including a round of 73 on Sunday. Junior Kevin Phelan and freshman Joey Petronio tied for 55th at 228, shooting 75 and 73 in the final round, respectively.
No. 4 Auburn captured the team title finishing at 848 and 16 strokes in front of runner-up Arkansas (864). Tournament host Florida finished third at 865 followed by UCF (871), Florida State (873), Liberty (878), UAB (882), North Florida, Mississippi State (885), Georgia Southern (888), Memphis (892), Kennesaw State (900), South Alabama (902) and Jacksonville (920).
AU's Dominic Bozzelli led wire-to-wire in claiming the individual medalist crown with a 202 (-8) score.
Next up for the North Florida golf team is their annual home event, the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, Feb. 26-28 at Sawgrass Country Club.
