
Basketball Plays at Upstate Monday Night

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The North Florida basketball team plays its penultimate regular season road game Monday as the Ospreys face USC Upstate at 7 p.m. at the Hodge Center.
The Ospreys (13-14, 7-7 A-Sun) look to bounce back after a disappointing loss Saturday at ETSU. USC Upstate (16-10, 9-4) has won two straight and six of their last seven including four straight at home. Spartans own a 9-1 mark at home this season.
Monday's game marks the 17th all-time meeting between UNF and Upstate on the hardwood. The Spartans own a slight 9-7 lead in the series including 4-3 edge in Spartanburg. The Ospreys have enjoyed some recent success having won three of the last four meetings and claiming wins in last two visits to Hodge Center. Upstate earned a 69-62 victory in the first meeting of the season between the pair.
Parker Smith, who led the way against ETSU with 17 points, is the Ospreys leading scorer at 13.3 points a game. Travis Wallace (10.9 ppg) and Jerron Granberry (10.7 ppg) are also averaging double figures for UNF. Wallace is the team's leading rebounder with 5.2 boards a game while Jimmy Williams leads the team in assists (3.4 apg).
Upstate is led in scoring and rebounding by Torrey Craig (17.3 ppg / 7.8 rpg), who ranks among the league's best in both categories.
