JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The North Florida basketball team plays its final regular season games outside of Jacksonville beginning Saturday at 4 p.m. against East Tennessee State at the MSHA Athletic Center.
The Ospreys (13-13, 7-6 A-Sun) have won their last two outings and four of their last five. ETSU (12-11, 6-6) saw a two game win streak snapped with a 54-46 loss at Mercer on Monday.
Saturday's game marks the 14th all-time meeting between UNF and ETSU on the hardwood. The Bucs hold a 12-1 lead in the series including a perfect 6-0 mark at home. The Ospreys lone victory came in last year's A-Sun Tournament semifinals. Three of the last four meetings have been decided by five points or less including ETSU's 64-63 win earlier this season at UNF Arena.
Parker Smith, UNF's leading scorer at 13.2 points per game, earned A-Sun Player of the Week honors on Tuesday after averaging 22 ppg last week and connecting on 11 three-pointers in two games. Smith is joined in double-digit scoring by Travis Wallace (11.0 ppg) and Jerron Granberry (10.9 ppg). Wallace is also the team's top rebounder at 5.2 boards a contest.
