MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Playing its third game in five days, the North Florida basketball team tips off a six-game road stretch Saturday against No. 21 Minnesota in Williams Arena at 1 p.m. (CT).
The Ospreys (3-4) have won two straight including a 72-47 win over Florida A&M on Thursday night while the Gophers (7-1) carry a three-game win streak into the tilt.
Saturday's contest marks the first meeting between UNF and UM on the hardwood. North Florida is 0-4 all-time against Big Ten opponents having faced a league member in each year of head coach Matthew Driscoll's tenure.
Parker Smith, UNF's top scorer at 17.1 points per game, scored 18 points in leading a quartet of Ospreys in double figures in their last outing. Charles McRoy tallied a season best 14 while Travis Wallace and freshman BaeBae Daniels both chipped in 12.
The Gophers' boast four players averaging double digits this season paced by 14.1 points per game from Rodney Williams.
